3 standards of successful entrepreneurs

By Mark Pentecost

A successful entrepreneur is someone who takes risks, has grit and has a single-minded focus.

It’s not a coincidence that some entrepreneurs are more successful than others in their fields. Here are three standards to follow if you want to find entrepreneurial success.

1) Successful people are risk-takers

Entrepreneurs know that you must take risks in order to experience success — especially the initial leap to get started. Without taking risks and making changes, your company’s growth will stay stagnant. While not all risks will pay off, taking calculated risks is necessary to take your company to that next level.

2) Successful people are lifetime learners

People who enjoy great successes in their careers never stop learning; they’re always looking for ways to grow their personal development. Whether it’s through continued education, or even as simple as reading books to increase your knowledge base, it’s important to keep up with the latest trends and innovations. Entrepreneurs who want to achieve the greatest success in business should never stop learning and improving themselves.

3) Successful people are single-minded

Successful people focus on one thing at a time. When an entrepreneur tries to manage too many tasks, that’s when it’s easiest to make mistakes and poor decisions that will negatively impact the company. Single-minded entrepreneurs put on their blinders to handle the most important issues first before moving on to the next obstacle.

Having been a business owner for more than 17 years, I’ve learned a lot, and I’ve worked with a lot of entrepreneurs. As an entrepreneur, remember that you should never stop pushing to be the most successful version of yourself. If you’re ready to be successful as a business owner, make sure you’re following these tips above to build on your success, too.
